Tachometers

Rotational speed is one of the most common physical parameters measured, with an extremely wide range of applications throughout industry, commerce, R&D, agriculture, and power generation. We have specialised for the past 40 years in the provision of sensors, measuring instruments and recorders for these measurements, and were one of the first companies to introduce digital non contacting techniques as a primary technology.

Our products are offered in two broad groups – hand held and panel mounted.

Hand held

We offer contact and optical speed meters for both rotational and linear speeds.  The non-contact optical units can be operated up to 1m from the target making them ideal where safety is critical.  While the contact tachometers offer the more traditional approach, utilising a rubber cone in contact with the moving target to generate pulses used to calculate speed. While these instruments offer rotational speed capability, the processing power and flexibility makes them more suited to linear speed or rate measurement applications on conveyor belts, baggage handling systems, chain drives and extrusion processes.

Panel mount Instruments

We offer a very wide selection of 4 and 5 digit Din standard meters with LED display. All are programmable to accept input from most industry standard sensors, including our range of inductive/optical probes and encoders with applications including engine test beds, production machinery, maritime propulsion systems, conveyor and mechanical handling systems, train washing equipment, pumping and flow rate display.
